Community Guidelines
customAdArt is a large community with people from all different backgrounds and experiences. At some point you may run into a situation where you disagree with another member of the community. If this occurs please remember to be respectful despite your differences. Everyone has something to offer here and we need to be civil!
The nature of this site puts our members’ intellectual property rights on the line every day. As a member of this community you may only post content to which you have full rights and agree not to take the work of other members without due consideration. This isn’t anything groundbreaking, but does need to be said.
We want your involvement! Take a moment to comment on artist’s submissions and leave feedback. Our community is a unique place for advertisers and artists to interact, and we hope you will take an active role in it!
This site is for everyone’s use and we need your help to keep it clean. If your topic isn’t something that kids see on a regular basis, then please reconsider posting it on this site! If you see something that offends you, please flag it or contact us and we will do what we can to resolve the issue!
Please feel free to leave us your feedback at any time! If you run into any glitches or think of a feature that would make your use of the site easier, please let us know! We are always working to enhance our usability and make this a better place and your feedback is crucial to this process!
Another thing we need to include here is a disclaimer. As a user of this site, you agree that customAdArt is simply a facilitator of communication between its users and will not hold customAdArt or anyone involved with the site liable for anything that may arise by your use of the site.
By signing up for an account, you agree that customAdArt may contact you on occassion to give you updates on the site or ask for your input. This will only occur rarely and never more than once a month, without your permission.
Please also take a moment to review our Client and Artist Guidelines and then go have fun!
Client Guidelines
Make it clear.
We want your experience using this site to be an enjoyable one, and one of the best ways to make sure that occurs is by making your requirements clear! When filling out your brief be sure to make it as clear as possible right from the start. This makes everyone’s life easier. Photographers won’t be wasting their time and you are much more likely to get the image you want!
One Image per Listing.
We realize that you often need several pictures to roll out a full campaign, but please post a new job for each individual image. This makes things easier on you and easier on the photographers because it reiterates the first point, and keeps your image requirements clear. You can refer to your other post in your brief, but trying to get multiple images from one listing complicates things and makes it difficult on everyone, so please keep it simple!
Stay Involved.
Posting a job and then disappearing will not win you any friends among the photographers. They are working to ensure that you get your perfect image and the least you can do is leave them some feedback and direction on their submissions! Staying involved and leaving feedback will also help you gain recognition and will make it more likely for you to get support on future projects.
Compensation.
You set the amount that you will pay for the image you choose when you create your job listing. Upon selecting an image you agree to pay the artist the full amount you set, directly via a third party service agreed upon by you and the photographer. Only after this payment may you request and use the image.
Copyright.
Before you use any image from this site, you must pay the photographer for their work. Upon purchasing the image it is yours to use wherever and whenever you want. You agree to allow the photographer to include it in their portfolio and this site to display it as a recent image.
Format & Size Requirements.
Be sure to specify your format and size requirements in your creative brief. We don’t want there to be any misunderstandings after you choose your image, and this is the best way to prevent that!
Artist Guidelines
Review the Creative Brief.
Before you decide to submit an image to a particular job, please carefully review the requirements and file format guidelines that the Client took the time to outline in their Brief. This prevents you from wasting your time and the time of others. If they request the file to be a certain size and in a specific format it is because that is what they need! The images you submit need to meet these requirements. We know this sounds obvious, but just wanted to make it clear.
Copyright.
You must own the full copyright to every image you submit. No questions asked. You retain the copyright to your work until you are paid for it. If a Client chooses your image and pays you for it, they receive full rights to it. The Client may not use your image unless you have been compensated. If they do, please report it as soon as possible. You retain the rights to use the image in your portfolio.
You may remove your image from the listing at any time, unless your image was chosen and you have been paid for it. At that point the image is no longer your property, and you must supply the agreed upon image to the Client within 48 hours.
Submitting Work.
We have taken measures to ensure the security of your images while on the site, but there is never a guarantee of complete safety. When images are submitted on the site a watermark is placed over them automatically, but if you would like further security, you may add your own watermark as well. This is not required, but is a good way to ensure your safety. Of course, if your image is purchased you agree to remove any watermarks or copyright images from the image before sending it to the Client.
Working for the Client.
When you submit work to a job listing you are creating that image for the Client and are agreeing not to submit that image on any form of stock photography website and not to sell any rights to that image while the job listing is active. Other than that and granting us the right to post a preview of your image on this site, you retain all rights to your image.
Payment.
If your image is selected by a Client you need to email with them and set up payment through a third party service that you both agree upon. We recommend PayPal. We are aware that some countries do not make this an option, and it is up to you to speak with the Client and arrange payments with them. Remember, until you are paid you own the rights to your image, so don’t transfer your image until you have been compensated! This part of the process is all handled between you and the Client and you agree not to hold this site liable for any issues that may arise during the transfer of Copyright. |
